Partnering with MacPhail Center for Music through the Music for LifeTM program, teaching artist Iris Shiraishi guided residents at the Gardens and Episcopal Church Home through bi-weekly, one hour programs themed to included participatory musical activities, singing, instruments, improvising and reminiscing. MacPhail Music for Life™ is an interactive music education and creative arts program for adults 55+.
Community partnerships with organizations like MacPhail and contributions form the MN Arts Board help serve to fulfill Episcopal Homes’ mission of enriching life and building community for older adults through Episcopal Homes enrichment programming.
MacPhail’s Music for LifeTM at Episcopal Homes was made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Episcopal Homes was fortunate to have been a recipient of the 2017 Partners in Arts Participation Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
