We are proud to share exciting news: Kinder Village has been awarded a Program of Distinction Award from Generations United, a national organization that champions intergenerational connections and programs across the country.
This recognition honors Kinder Village for its outstanding commitment to bringing generations together in meaningful, mutually beneficial ways. The Program of Distinction Award is given to programs that exemplify excellence, innovation, and impact in the intergenerational field, and we are thrilled to see our work acknowledged on a national stage.
At Kinder Village, intergenerational connection is at the heart of what we do. By creating intentional opportunities for older adults and children to learn, play, and grow together, we foster relationships that enrich lives across every age. Whether it’s shared storytelling, collaborative art projects, music, or simple moments of companionship, these daily interactions build empathy, joy, and a deep sense of community.
“This award reflects the passion and dedication of our staff, families, and residents who make intergenerational experiences such a powerful part of life at Kinder Village,” said Kristen Tonda, Director of Kinder Village. “We are grateful to Generations United for recognizing the value of this work and the positive impact it has on everyone involved.”
Generations United’s Program of Distinction Award highlights programs that demonstrate best practices in intergenerational engagement, including strong program design, sustainability, and meaningful outcomes for participants. Being selected affirms not only the quality of our program but also the importance of investing in connections that bridge generations.
We are deeply thankful to our team and community partners who continue to support and shape this work. Most of all, we celebrate the children and older adults whose relationships bring this program to life every day.
We look forward to continuing to grow our intergenerational program and to sharing its benefits with even more families and residents in the years ahead.
