As 2019 approached, Episcopal Homes hosted a community meeting, called the Shiny Soul Retreat. The focus was on what truly differentiates Episcopal Homes–what we should celebrate during our 125th Anniversary year and what we hope remains for celebration after 125 more years. The answers were caring for the whole person in body, mind and spirit; being “unapologetically Episcopalian” and the quality and longevity of relationships among staff, residents, families and friends that form a community of “extravagant love.” These values were demonstrated on Friday night, September 20th, among the nearly 300 residents, families, friends and staff who came together to celebrate 125 years of enriching lives and building community with older adults.
Many shared they were excited to support our mind, body and spirit wellbeing programs and to learn more about Sister Annette’s rooted mission. We are grateful for your support. The event successfully raised $300,000 enabling us to move toward sustaining these important programs for our elders for many years to come.
Thank you also to the St. Paul Camera Club for providing wonderful images of this special evening, and to Jim Johnson for videography of our on-campus play performance.
