Episcopal Homes of Minnesota Becomes First Nursing Home in the State to Implement Green House Model of Skilled Nursing Care
Senior living organization introduces The Gardens nursing home, designed to look and feel like a private home

A recent study conducted by the Green House Project found that approximately 80 percent of families surveyed had concerns about their loved ones living in a conventional nursing home because of the lack of individualized attention, institutional atmosphere and the loss of independence. The Gardens was designed to address those concerns.
“A Green House home is created from the ground up to foster the same feeling and experience as living in a real home,” says Marvin Plakut, CEO of Episcopal Homes of Minnesota.

All caregivers are Certified Nursing Assistants trained to ear the title of “Shahbaz,” which comes from a mythical Persian royal falcon that transformed lives by protecting, nurturing and sustaining its people.
The Gardens is part of Episcopal Homes of Minnesota’s $45 million expansion at the Midway campus.
