Episcopal Homes’ Women in Leadership: Meet Kristin Tonda

Meet Kristin Tonda, Director, KinderVillage Intergenerational Day Care

How long have you been in your position? Can you tell me a bit about your training/previous positions?

I have been KinderVillage Director for 3 years.  I have my bachelor’s degree in elementary education.  I previously worked 5 years as an assistant director at another childcare center, and I have 10+ years in education.

What qualities make a good leader?

I feel that with my experience working as a teacher in early childhood settings I am empathetic towards by teachers and staff because I know how hard being a preschool teacher can be. I strive to be there to support my teachers in any way possible.

What are the most important skills you use as a leader?

I try to be reliable and dependable

Please share an accomplishment you are especially proud of:

I have made it a goal for teachers, students, and parents to be happy with the quality of care provided by Kinder Village.

Please share a goal(s) for your area for 2022:

I want to build strong relationships between Kinder Village and the residents of Episcopal Homes.

A short sentence or two about you personally:

I try to keep things happy and light and to look at the positives. This mom runs on coffee and chaos.
