Meet Debbie Richman, Executive Manager of Becketwood Cooperative

How long have you been in your position? Can you tell me a bit about your training?

It will be 4 years in April of this year.  I have a BS in Speech Communication and Music Therapy.  I have, 30+ years of experience working in various aspects of older adult services including training and education, staff development and building management

What qualities make a good leader?

Knowing that learning is never ending. Being a good example to those around you – nothing should ever be above your “pay grade”

What are the most important skills you use as a leader?

Visibility within Becketwood; supporting staff and Members in the way they need support (try not to assume); knowledge and understanding

Please share an accomplishment you are especially proud of:

We completed a conversion from Windows 11 to Office 365 and the installation of a new phone system at the same time.

Please share a goal(s) for your area for 2022:

I want to continue to develop my skills to better serve Becketwood into the future

A short sentence or two about you personally:

I was born and raised in Minnesota. I have two cats – Stanley and Iris (great movie if you have not seen it!) I have been a member of the Minnesota Chorale/Professional Chorus since 1997.
