Construction Update: July 22, 2013

The North and East foundation walls of Midway Village are nearing completion. They are made from poured cement. Just to the right of the picture’s center, workers are positioning the form for another footing. The blue truck in the upper right is a pumper truck. It will pump cement into the form when it is perfectly positioned. Each footing rests on two to nine crushed stone Geopiers (14 to 20 feet deep). The number of Geopiers under each footing depends on the load that the footing will bear. Once the footings have cured, cement piers that take us up to Village Plaza level are poured on top of them.
