Construction Update: On-campus parking stinks right now

Construction of our Midway Village senior apartment complex officially began on May 22. The first order of business was to install a new storm water management system to replace the pond that used to serve that purpose. The only place to put it was underground in our campus parking lot. That’s what the “Big Dig” in the picture is all about, and that’s why our campus parking capacity is less than half of what it usually is. There is no way to sugar-coat this pill. Our campus parking situation stinks right now. But not for long…

We have been promised by the contractor that our campus parking lot will be 100% back to normal not later than June 21. In the mean time, when (what’s left of) our parking lot is full, visitors will have to find on-street parking. We have offered our employees free off-street parking for the month of June in a nearby lot to help improve our visitors’ chances of finding a parking space.

Visitors are also welcome to park free of charge in the Goodwill/Easter Seals lot directly across University Avenue from our campus. The Goodwill/Easter Seals lot can be accessed from Westbound University or from Fairview Avenue.

Watch our web site for Construction Updates. Links to these Updates will also appear on the Episcopal Homes of Minnesota Facebook page. We want to keep you in the loop. Where we are between now and June 21 may not be ideal, but where we are going is everyone’s ideal!
