Two Generations, Numerous New Friendships
As a little kid, interactions with grandma and grandpa are cherished and remembered. Why is that? A strong emotional bond between a grandparent and a grandchild models a healthy relationship. Grandparents are a security blanket for young kids. Whenever mom or dad seems to be unfair to a child, a child will run to grandma or grandpa for reinforcement. Here at Episcopal Homes of Minnesota, we have a mission to encourage intergenerational relationships on our campus. In April 2015, Episcopal Homes will be opening Kinder Village. Kinder Village will be an intergenerational child care program right in the heart of campus. Episcopal Homes is confident that offering active, older adults with vibrant, energetic children will enrich the lives for everyone involved. Why do we Encourage Intergenerational Relationships at Episcopal Homes?
